Paths to Publication   NEW!

Today there are more opportunities than ever for writers to be published. How do you know which path is the right one for you? This course is designed to help writers find their way. The course will outline the various ways writers can publish their work, from traditional publishing to self-publishing, and how to start out on each of these paths. The course material is applicable to all genres and is useful for writers in the early stages of a project as well as for those with finished manuscripts. Topics addressed will include how to anticipate the best market for your book, how to approach literary agents and editors, the pros and cons of each path to publication, and what every writer needs to know about book promotion. Assignments will be given each week to help students work toward a custom publishing plan for their own book, and class discussions will allow for questions and input from the instructor and class members.
