Explore the Rogue Valley and other regional areas with local tour companies. OLLI at SOU is lucky to be located in an area nearby to many different exciting and educational experiences. Check out ROGUETROTTER’s YouTube video on our past 2025 trips.

Rogue Valley’s Response to WWII – Nov. 21, 2026 (1 day)

Join fellow OLLI members and well-known historian, archaeologist and author Jeff LaLande to explore how World War II shaped the Rogue Valley and the traces it left behind. $115 per guest. View complete trip details (PDF). Trip highlights include:

  • Historic Camp White: Enjoy special access to the historic buildings of the U.S. Army’s wartime training post and learn how Camp White transformed the landscape north of Medford.
  • Live-fire training along Antioch Road: View concrete pillboxes used in live-fire training and hear how soldiers prepared for combat before heading overseas
  • Military buildings given new lives: Along Table Rock Road, trace former Camp White buildings sold as surplus, moved and adapted for homes and businesses after the war.

Bandon Coast & Shore Acres Holiday Lights – Dec. 12-13, 2026 (2 days/1 night)

Packing and weather considerations: Anticipate temperatures in the high 40s to mid 50s, light rain/mist and a chilly evening at Shore Acres. Pack warm layers, comfortable walking shoes and a hat/gloves.

Mackinac Island, the Grand Hotel & Niagara Falls – June 11-18, 2027 (8 days / 7 nights)
