This talk is being given by John Schuyler as an informative background session for OLLI at SOU members who will participate in the April 23rd OLLI Travel Tour of the Klamath Dam Removal Project (combined with a visit to the Woolgatherers Carding Mill in Montague, CA). The tour will allow people to see the free-flowing Klamath River and changes that are occurring in the former Copco1 Reservoir. Schuyler has extensive knowledge of water management in the Western US, previous dam removals and river and salmon impacts. The presentation will draw from information he presents in his OLLI course "Plumbing the West: Dams, Ditches, and Diversions," which was last offered in Fall 2024.
