Catalog/Register   

The online catalog has the most up-to-date information and allows you to register immediately for available courses.

To add courses to your cart, you must be a current 2024-25 OLLI at SOU member and signed-in to your account. Click here to join or renew and purchase a 2024-25 OLLI membership. You can browse courses without a membership.

There are two registration periods. Here are instructions for each:

Instructions for Priority Registration period (November 18–29, 2024)
What is Priority Registration?

Priority Registraton is a two-week period five weeks before the start of the term. Registering during the Priority Registraton Period increases your chances of getting the course(s) you want but is no guarantee — especially if the course is oversubscribed and has a Waitlist.

  • Priority Registration allows you to request and prioritize up to three courses.To prioritize your requests, be sure to add your requests to the Cart in your preferred order (1st, 2nd, 3rd). Prioritizing requests is especially important for courses that have a limited maximum enrollment.
  • After submitting your request(s), you will receive an email confirming the requests were received. If you do not receive the email confirmation, contact the OLLI office for immediate assistance.
  • Priority course requests are processed the week after Priority Registration ends. You will receive an email confirming the status (Registered or Waitlisted) for each of the first three courses you entered.
    • If you request more than three courses during this period, the additional courses are dropped. You can re-submit those course requests during Open Registration.
  • A computer-generated lottery will fill each course in the following sequence:
    • All single course requests are registered first.
    • If space remains, all requests that include multiple courses are processed
  • If at any point the course is full (the total number of requests exceeds the course’s maximum enrollment), all requests not registered are assigned to the waitlist. The waitlist is ordered by the date/time the course request was initially processed during the two-week Priority Registration period. Requests processed earlier during the two-week period will be higher on the waitlist than requests processed later.
How do I register during Priority Registration?
  1. Sign in to your Account. You must be signed in to your account to add courses to your Cart.
  2. Browse the catalog and identify up to three courses you want to request. Note: If you mistakenly submit more than three courses during Priority Registration, the additional requests will be “dropped”, and you will need to re-submit during Open Enrollment.
  3. Using the online catalog, click Add to Cart for your highest priority course, then click the Add to Cart for your second highest priority course, and then click Add to Cart for your final course. You can choose to add only one, two, or three courses to your cart.
  4. When you have added your final course (up to three), click Check Out, then review your Profile and edit if needed, click Next. If all the courses in the Cart look correct, click Check Out and proceed to Purchase.
  5. An email confirming that your requests have been received is sent immediately. If you do not receive the email, call the OLLI office immediately for assistance: 541.552.6048.
  6. If you need to change the prioritized ranking of your courses after you made your Purchase, click Change Course Priorities at the top of the page and follow the directions to change the ranking of your courses.
  7. A week after the Priority Registration period ends, you will be notified by email the status (Registered or Waitlisted) for each of the (up to three) courses you requested.
What happens if I am waitlisted?

When an enrolled member drops a course, the waitlisted request with the earliest submission date/time will be registered for that course. If you are moved from Waitlisted to Registered you will be notified by email.

What if I need to drop a course?

If you need to drop a course, email the OLLI at SOU office, olli@sou.edu, with DROP and the course title in the subject line, or call the SOU at OLLI office at 541.552.6048.

Instructions for Open Registration period (beginning December 9, 2024)
What is Open Registration?

During Open Registration, you can register online, in real time, any time. Open Registration begins two weeks before the start of the term. Each course remains open until the course is in session or the Waitlist is full.

How do I register during Open Registration?
  1. Use the online catalog to select as many courses as your schedule allows. Please do not enroll in a course unless you intend to attend.
  2. On the online registration page, choose a course you want and click the “Add to Cart” button. If the course is over-subscribed, the “Add to Waitlist” button will appear instead of the “Add to Cart” button.
  3. When you are finished adding courses to your cart, click Cart icon in the grey menu above.
  4. If the items in the Cart look correct, click Check Out.
  5. Once you have completed updating your Profile, on the following page, click Purchase.(There is no per-course charge for OLLI at SOU classes.) An email confirmation is sent to you immediately. If you do not receive an email, call the OLLI office for assistance: (541)-552-6048.
What happens if I am waitlisted?

When an enrolled member drops the course, the waitlisted request with the earliest submission date/time will be registered. You will be notified by email if you are moved from Waitlisted to Registered.

What if I need to drop a course?

If you need to drop a course, send an email with “DROP” and the course title in the subject line to olli@sou.edu, or call the OLLI at SOU office at (541) 552-6048.

If you prefer to fill out a paper form to request courses, the OLLI office staff will input your request within three business days of receiving the completed form. Once requests are processed, you will receive an email confirmation. Click here to access the Course Request Form (PDF). You can browse the catalog without being an OLLI at SOU member or without being signed in to your account.
